Join us for a 4-week workshop exploring the connection between the seasons 🦚 and our personal upkeep. In nature, seasons dictate the rhythms of life—when plants bloom 🌺 or fade, and when animals gather or retreat. Similarly, by tuning into these cycles, we can enhance our own well-being.
Each season brings its own energy, and its own rhythms, that can help us tap into what our bodies need most. Why is it so important to tune into the seasons? Longevity.
Longevity is the art of tuning ourselves to Great Nature 🦚, so that we may use the cycles of time to our advantage in order to fully and consciously participate in the now of each moment of our lives. Longevity is not simply about the length of a life, but rather the quality of a life; the health of our body, mind and spirit that makes life worth living.
While no one thing can truly guarantee a long life, there are certain conditions that may promote a life well lived. Join us this fall for an exploration of longevity, time and setting the conditions for a good life.
Single session attendance is welcome, though participation for the entire 4 weeks is strongly encouraged. Zoom option available.

When: August 19, 2023 9 am- 12pm MT
Cost: $75
In this workshop, we will delve into the purposes and differences between intentional and autonomic breathing and why both are necessary. We will explore various techniques of breathwork and the benefits of each, creating a new relationship with our bodies beyond the physical shapes of asana (physical yoga practice). Pranayama is a powerful technique for transcending the physical body and entering a realm that is less tangible and visible. By controlling the breath and channeling it to where we want it to go, we can cultivate mindfulness within and outside our bodies and lives. The breath is incredibly aerobic, and we can learn to manipulate it as food for our organs, insight for our minds, and fuel for our emotional, physical, and psychological well-being. While we form ourselves into shapes during the physical practice of yoga, pranayama opens up the body so that energy can move through it, enabling us to see beyond the linear structures of the body. Pranayama can soothe our souls and quiet our hearts, providing a pathway to greater calm and inner peace. The workshop cost is $75, and registration is open now. 3 Hours bankable towards your 200 hr YTT certification with Black Dog School of Yoga.

Body Reading and Practice
Our physical body is the manifestation of our psychology. The way we see and experience the world will be marked on the body and may cause us to overuse our strengths and ignore our weaknesses. A body that is not well functioning is not sustainable. In this workshop style class, we will start with moving through a practice and take time to look at bodies, discuss what we see and work together to set them up for optimal function.
Session 3 | Saturday September 23, 2023 | 2pm-5pm
Face Reading | 5 Element Theory
The five elements- water, wood, fire, earth and metal- are one of the fundamental maps with which to look at a face and glean some implicit understanding of someone’s nature. In this session we will go over the systems of the 5 elements, each of their inherent characteristics and their relationship to one another.
We will expand on the 5 element theory and use it to explore the facial map. The face is a fractal of the body that tells our narrative story. Great Nature graces us with 2 ears, a forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks, chin, jaw, etc. How we live, the choices we make, the relationships we have and how we have them determine how each feature grows. Some of it is determined by out ancestry, our first nature, while most of it is determined by our solar nature, what we make of ourselves.
Session 4 | Sunday September 24, 2023 | 10:00am-12:00pm Posture breakdowns
This session will be an exploration of the postures and how we see them and use them to get around ourselves and our circumstance. We will practice together and utilize each other for hands-on adjustments and feedback.
